Continuing Education Requirements

Hours Required

Producers and Adjusters, including non-resident adjusters must complete 24 credit hours of CE, biennially.

Compliance Date

Biennially on the producer's birth date.

Approved Course Delivery Methods

• Independent self-study online or written courses (passing grade of 70% required on final exam)
• Classroom
• Interactive Online
• Seminar

Course Subject Requirements

• Agents must complete 3 hours in ethics
• All Wyoming licensed resident insurance producers who sell federal flood insurance policies are required to complete a one-time 3-credit course in flood.

Exam Requirements

Self-study final exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested 3rd party (i.e. someone with no business or family relationship to the student).

Carryover Credits

Excess CE credit hours may not be carried over to the next reporting period.

Course Repetition

Courses may not be taken more than once within a 48-month (4-year) period.

Exemptions

• Individuals who have a limited line license for credit life and credit disability or funeral services contracts.
• Individuals who hold a limited agent's license.
• Motor Club agents and Incidental Public Carrier agents.
• Non-resident agents are not required to complete continuing education in Wyoming as long as they are compliant in their home state.

Credit Reporting

A course completion certificate is provided for the agent and Cape School reports your completion to the state. Each licensee will need to submit the Wyoming continuing education verification form, copies of their certificates of completion prior to the expiration of the producer's license. The licensee should retain the original certificates of completion received for each course for a period of three (3) years.
