Compliance Group 1 - Annual Deadline April 30

2021 Compliance Period: 5/1/2021 - 4/30/2021

• Twelve (12) hour requirement may be completed with credits earned through live-online or pre-recorded online courses
• Distance learning credits earned during this period may carry forward (up to two compliance periods)

2022 Compliance Period: 5/1/2021 - 4/30/2022 and
2023 Compliance Period: 5/1/2022 - 4/30/2023
2024 Compliance Period: 5/1/2023 - 4/30/2024

• Six (6) credits must be live-online (teleconference, webcast) or in-person/classroom
• Up to six (6) credits may be completed through pre-recorded online courses
• Only credits through live-online (teleconference, webcast) and in-person/classroom courses taken during this period may carry forward (up to two compliance periods)

Compliance Group 2 - Annual Deadline August 31

2021 Compliance Period: 9/1/2020 - 8/31/2021

2021 Compliance Period: 1/1/2021 - 12/31/2021

2022 Compliance Period: 1/1/2022 - 12/31/2022 and
2023 Compliance Period: 1/1/2023 - 12/31/2023
2024 Compliance Period: 1/1/2024 - 12/31/2024

• Six (6) credits must be live-online (teleconference, webcast) or in-person/classroom
• Up to six (6) credits may be completed through pre-recorded online courses

Pennsylvania state requires that attorneys complete 12 hours per year. At least two(2) hours must be ethics. Excess ethics credits are automatically converted to substantive credits up to the annual requirement. Excess ethics above 12 are carried forward as ethics credits.

Up to six (6) credits per year may be completed online. There are three compliance groups (1, 2, 3) with CLE deadlines at the end of April, August, and December, respectively. Pennsylvania state allows up to two times the annual requirement (2 x 12=24) to be accumulated and carried forward into future compliance periods.  Excess online credits do not carry forward.

12 credits required,  2 credits must be ethics and half (6) of the credits may be pre-recorded video. 6 credits must be live (classroom, teleconference, or webinar).

Express Credit Reporting:

CAPE is one of three members of a very select group of accredited course providers to have received approval and training from the PA CLE Board to use the "Electronic Exchange of Provider Reports for Specific Systems" (EXPRESS). With EXPRESS, CAPE is able to efficiently and accurately report your CLE credits directly to the PA CLE Board.
