Continuing Education Requirements
24 credit hours of continuing education are required to be completed biennially. This must include at least 3 credit hours of Ethics. The remaining 21 credit hours must be approved as Title.
Approved Course Delivery Methods
• Independent self-study online or written courses (passing grade of 70% required on final exam)
• Classroom
• Seminar
• Interactive Online
• Teleconference
Exam Requirements
A disinterested 3rd party (i.e. someone who has no business or family relationship with the student) must monitor the written and online self-study final exams. Interactive online courses do not require a monitor.
Carryover Credits
Insurance producers who complete in excess of 24 credit hours during one licensing term may carry over up to 12 credits to the next renewal term. These credit hours may only be carried over once. Credit hours earned in ethics may not be carried over.
Course Repetition
Courses may not be taken for credit more than once during a licensing period.
Credit Reporting
CAPE will promptly report credits to Sircon. A course completion certificate is provided for the agent’s record.
