Continuing Education Requirements
12 credit hours of continuing education are required to be completed biennially. This must include at least 2 credits of Ethics. The remaining 10 credit hours must be approved for Title.
Compliance Date
Licenses renew biennially on the last day of your birth month.
All Licensees are required to have their credits BANKED (banked means the course must be completed and reported) for completed courses by the last day of their birth month biennially. Please click here if you would like to check your transcript: Ohio Department of Insurance
Approved Course Delivery Methods
• Independent Written or Online self-study courses (passing grade of at least 70% required on final exam)
• Classroom
• Webinar
• Interactive Online (students must pass each inquiry section with 100% in order to receive credit for the course)
Exam Requirements
Self-study final exams are closed book and must be completed independently. Interactive Online courses do not have a final exam.
Carryover Credits
Excess credit hours may not be carried over to the next reporting period.
Course Repetition
Courses may not be taken more than once within the same reporting period
Credit Reporting
Cape will submit your credit hours to ODI (Ohio Department of Insurance) the next business day of the completion of the course. DO NOT SEND course completion certificates to the department of insurance, they are provided for your personal records only.
